Daytona 24 Jam: Cadillac dan Ford dominasi kualifikasi
Dua pabrikan Amerika Serikat, Cadillac dan Ford berhasil merajai sesi kualifikasi balapan Daytona 24 Jam di kelasnya masing-masing.






















Pembalap Portugal, Joao Barbosa, berhasil meraih pole usai membawa mobil AXR Cadillac mengitari sirkuit Daytona Road Course dalam waktu 1 menit 36,903 detik.
Juara bertahan, Dane Cameron, gagal menempati posisi pole setelah ia hanya terpaut 0,07 detik lebih lambat di belakang waktu Barbosa.
Pembalap Swiss, Neel Jani membawa tim kompatriotnya, Rebellion, ke posisi start ketiga, di depan mobil tim Wayne Taylor Racing yang diperkuat oleh mantan pembalap NASCAR, Jeff Gordon.
Melengkapi lima posisi teratas di kelas DPi adalah pembalap tim Patron ESM Racing, Brendon Hartley. Pembalap Selandia Baru yang mengemudikan mobil Onroak #2 itu mencatat waktu 0,6 detik lebih cepat di depan Ryan Dalziel yang akan start dari posisi start keenam.
Di, kelas PC – yang akan tampil untuk terakhir kalinya di tahun ini, James French berhasil menempati posisi pole, mengungguli pesaing terdekat mereka dengan jarak keunggulan 0,8 detik.
Posisi terdepan untuk kategori GT menjadi milik tim pabrikan Ford, berkat usaha pembalap Amerika Serikat, Joey Hand, yang mencatat waktu 1 menit 43,473 detik. Hand akan memimpin rombongan tiga dari empat mobil "Oval Biru" yang berhasil mendominasi jalannya kualifikasi di kelas GTLM.
Untuk kelas GTD, Alessandro Pier Guidi berhasil menjadi yang tercepat setelah ia mencatat waktu 1 menit 47,099 detik dengan mobil Ferrari 488 GT3 #51.
