Moto3 Amerika: Antonelli amankan pole position
Pembalap SIC58 Squadra Corse, Niccolo Antonelli, berhasil mengamankan pole position pada kualifikasi Moto3 Amerika yang berlangsung dalam kondisi basah.

Dibatalkannya sesi FP3 membuat penentuan Q1 dan Q2 berdasarkan hasil kombinasi FP1 serta FP2. Pemuncak klasemen sementara, Kaito Toba, gagal lolos dari Q1 lantaran terjatuh pada menit-menit akhir.
Kendati harus menghadapi trek basah, Antonelli mampu tampil kuat. Mengambil alih posisi puncak yang ditempati Darryn Binder, sang Italiano muda membukukan catatan waktu tercepat 2 menit 31,346 detik.
Adapun, start terdepan di Circuit of The Americas (COTA), Austin ini merupakan yang pertama sejak kali terakhir ia mencicipi pole position usai kualifikasi di Moto3 Qatar 2018.
Raul Fernandez mengisi grid kedua, di depan Gabriel Rodrigo. Sedangkan urutan keempat diklaim Jaume Masia, yang mengungguli Binder. Kemudian rekrutan baru Aron Canet start keenam.
Rekan setim Antonelli, Tatsuki Suzuki, melengkapi tujuh besar. Pembalap Jepang itu sekaligus mengalahkan John McPhee dan Alonso Lopez, dengan Marcos Ramirez posisi ke-10.
Moto3 Amerika akan dipentas Minggu (14/4), pukul 23:00 WIB.
