Moto2 Jepang: Bagnaia amankan grid terdepan
Francesco Bagnaia tak terbendung pada kualifikasi Moto2 Jepang, dengan Miguel Oliveira mendulang hasil kurang memuaskan.

Sesi baru berjalan empat menit, tetapi pembalap yang akrab disapa Pecco itu sudah menduduki urutan teratas. Ia membukukan 1 menit 50,889 detik. Tak lama, ia memperbaiki catatan waktunya menjadi 1 menit 50,759 detik. Rupanya ini sudah cukup mengantarkannya untuk pole position.
Karena hingga berakhirnya kualifikasi, Sabtu (20/10), para lawan Bagnaia tidak mampu merebut posisi puncak yang ditempatinya. Dua nama, Fabio Quartararo dan Iker Lecuona, hanya dapat mengunci grid kedua serta ketiga, sedangkan Oliveira tampil kurang menggigit.
Pole position di Twin Ring Motegi merupakan keenam pada musim 2018 bagi Bagnaia, setelah kualifikasi Le Mans, Assen, Red Bull Ring, Silverstone dan San Marino.
Start keempat diklaim Marcel Schrotter, mengungguli Lorenzo Baldassarri serta Alex Marquez. Sementara urutan ketujuh dihuni Xavi Vierge, diikuti pembalap tuan rumah, Tetsuta Nagashima.
Ada pun, Oliveira harus puas menempati posisi kesembilan atau lebih lambat 0,572 detik. Ia sendiri akan mengawali balapan di depan rekan setim Brad Binder, dengan Luca Marini di luar 10 besar.
Moto2 Jepang akan dihelat Minggu (21/10) besok, pukul 10:20 WIB.
